Jel neko zna nesto o plavim ljudima iz Kentakija koji su bili cesto vidjani 1950-tih. Molim vas da napisete sve sto znate.

Moj suprug se kune da je tokom svog studiranja antropologije imao prilike da čuje o rasi plavih ljudi. Kako li sam ja to propustila? I nemoj da vam padne na pamet da mi kažete da su to Štrumpfovi!

U redu, nisu bili Štrumpfovi. Mislio sam da mogu da bar pomenem hronično depresivne obožavaoce .B.Kinga ili stanovnike Minesote u januaru, ali ni oni mi nekako ne odgovaraju. Pa da ti onda kažem istinu, da tvoj suprug najverovatnije govori o plavim Fugatima iz Kentakija, najveću opomenu protiv razmnožavanja među rodbinom od vremena pre rošenja Prina Čarlsa.

Plavi Fugati nisu bili rasa već veoma prepletena porodica koja je živela u planinama Apalači. Glava porodice je bio Martin Fugate koji se nastanio duž obala rečice Nevolje kod Hazarda u Kentakiju, negde oko 1800 godine. Njegova supruga Meri je bila nosilac veoma retke bolesto koja je nasledna i poznata pod imenom nasledna metemoglobinemia, a koju većina zna po skraćenici met-H.

Zbog nedostatka enzima, krv onih koji imaju meta-H ima smanjenu sposobnost prenošenja kiseonika. Prema istoričaru porodice, Meri Fugate, prva od Fugata koja je rođena sa plavom kožom, je na svet došla 1832 godine. Zbog mešanja rođaka u izoliranim planinskim terenima, porodično stablo Fugate e zamršena mreža rođaka koji su se uzimali međusobno, pa su i plavi ljudi počeli da se redovno rađaju. Oko šestoro ih je bilo na sceni 1890 godine, a jedan slučaj je prijavljen i 1975 godine. I bili su izuzetni. Jedna žena je, tako kažu, imala usne koje s bile skroz tamno plave, kao modrica.

1960 godine je doktor Madison Cawein čuo o plavim Fugatama i uspeo da pronađe nekoliko. Na svu sreću nekoliko slučajeva nasledjenog met-H kod indijanaca Aljaske je dokumentovano u medicinskoj literaturi baš ore tog istraživanja pa je doktor mogao da brzo uspostavi dijagnozu. Isto je mogao i da prepiše uspešan lek, hemijski plavi metilen, koji je zamenio enzim koji je nedostajao u krvi. Rezultati su bili dramatični. Samo posle nekoliko minuta od uzimanja doze, plavi Fugati su poslali obični ljudi prvi put u svom životu!

This is part of the mythology of Krishna. See, some demons wanted to kill every living being on the earth, so they dumped poison in the rivers. Krishna prevented mass mortality by drinking up all the poison. Being a god, naturally Krishna didn't die from the poison, but it did turn his skin blue for the rest of time. Why poison = blue? Policajac je stupio u kontakt sa britanskim ekspertima za NLO pošto je video tri vanzemaljca kako ispituju ono što su uradili na poljima nedaleko od mesta Avebury u Wiltshire-u.

Narednik, koji nije hteo da mu se ime objavi, nije bio na dužnosti kada je video kako tri osobe koje se šunjaju naokolo nedaleko od Silbury Hill-a, i stao da ispita.
